Nicole and I are thrilled to welcome you to Canberra. A thriving city crammed with cultural institutions, award winning hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions and architecture; a city interlaced with stunning accessible lakes, parks and bushland. An unfairly judged city, that is sure to surprise and impress. Welcome to your very own ‘Bush Capital’.

We have endeavoured to highlight Canberra throughout the entire programme, with functions and events planned across Canberra’s premiere locations, including the Australian War Memorial, the National Arboretum, the National Portrait Gallery, the Australian National Museum, and Canberra’s very own Floriade festival.

It is our hope is that you experience some of the wonderful restaurants and destinations Canberra has to offer, below you will find a list of our personal favourites plus other many other activities to suit individuals, couples and families.

The AOA Annual Scientific Meeting, content and structure this year has again been skilfully overseen by Professor Ian Harris, and promises to deliver an extraordinary line-up. AOA Conference and Event Manager, Alison Fallon, has worked tirelessly to ensure that the vision of President David Martin and wife Julia, and that of the entire organising committee is surpassed. We wholeheartedly thank everyone for their dedication in ensuring the ASM remains a highly regarded event within our calendar.

The entire ACT branch of the AOA together with their partners embrace this year’s theme of “Teamwork and Engagement” and we are proud to welcome you to your AOA ASM 2019 Canberra.
