Syed Shahid Noor

Syed Shahid Noor is currently Head of Department, Trauma and Orthopaedic Unit, Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College in Pakistan and specialises in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. He is also President of the Pakistan Arthroplasty Society and Chairman of the Registry Committee for the Health Advisory Board.
In the last two decades, Professor Noor has made many significant contributions to the fields of healthcare, research and education in Pakistan. Professor Noor’s Department has been successful in increasing their surgical repertoire to encompass a number of orthopaedic services, including but not limited to; comprehensive trauma services, primary and revision total hip and total knee arthroplasty services and deformity correction services.
As founding principal and project director of the Liaquat National Medical College, Professor Noor established the medical college associated with the Liaquat National Hospital. The College is now recognised by the University of Karachi, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and has now had seven cohorts of 100 students who have successfully graduated. In addition, Professor Noor has made significant contributions to the training
of orthopaedic surgeons in Pakistan.
Professor Noor is the Founding Director of the Pakistan National Joint Registry and Founding Member, Health Research Advisory Board. As part of these roles he successfully established the National Joint Registry in 2014. He has also authored a number of reports and has published 15 papers in peer review journals, either as first or subsequent author.
